The Scorpions Booster Club
The UAS Scorpion Booster Club is made up of parents who want to share in their children’s athletic achievements and support the athletics programs at UAS by volunteering their time, energy, personal, and financial support. We aim to enhance the sports experience for our children, as well as for parents, and make the Scorpions a respected team in the community.
We believe that it is important to exhibit good sportsmanship, and children learn the basics from the adults they see around them. If the adults and coaches serve as role models, this interaction will slowly make them realize that the real winners in sports are those who know how to persevere and behave with dignity, irrespective of whether they win or lose.
Our mission is to promote athletic excellence, a positive community image, and competitive sports programs, through our fund raising activities. We aim to encourage the coaches and players, as well as provide needed support in practices, competitions, and tournaments. We provide items which enhance the sports experience at UAS; and we host the annual year-end Sports Awards Banquet.
Who can be involved?
Any parent of UAS students is invited to be involved, and all parents of students in the sports program are encouraged to participate. We welcome volunteers to assist in a variety of tasks at our many sports events. Should you desire to be more involved there are a few roles within the booster club that you could fill, and we would be happy to have you be involved.
Our goal is to get more parents and students involved in school activities as well as meeting new people. So why not join us at a meeting, or come out to one of the games or tournaments, and help cheer our Scorpions on? We’d love to see you there…and so would the children.
