Million Solar Stars is a group of passionate student environmentalist lead by UAS Middle School Teachers Adam Hall and Kumu Amadedoti. This group is growing quickly in its international influence. The Million Solar Stars group is pushing the solar initiative at UAS and in a service project Kenya. Students raised money to bring solar lights and solar arrays to the students of Mkamenyi School near Tsavo, Kenya. Students have also conducted a site analysis for solar installation for the rooftops of UAS.

As stated by UAS students in the video, “we are not just raising money to help others, we are going there and actually helping to install solar arrays.” Another student stated, “when I look up here I see that lights are everywhere and we just take it for granted.” Finally, it was stated, “both sides will benefit from this experience of traveling to Africa.” This group of students is creating awareness of the power of renewable energies and the ability of students to make a huge difference in the lives of others.
