Robotics one term, piano the next. Our after-school programme runs termly so children can keep what they love and try something new alongside it, with sport, creative arts, academic enrichment, and language and cultural activities all on offer. Delivered by UAS teachers and trusted partners including Activitee.

The programme is delivered through a combination of school-led activities run by UAS teachers and partnerships with established external providers, including Activitee.


How The Programme Works

The program allows students to continue with activities they enjoy while also having the flexibility to explore new interests as they grow.

Across the year, after-school activities are designed to support learning and development beyond the classroom. Offerings generally fall within four broad areas:

  • Sport and physical activity
  • Creative and performing arts
  • Academic enrichment and skill development
  • Language and cultural engagement

This structure allows students to experience a balance of movement, creativity, thinking skills, and social interaction.

What Students Can Take part in

Depending on the term, after-school offerings at UAS include activities such as:

  • Robotics and coding, where students explore problem-solving, logic, and basic programming
  • Cookery, focusing on practical kitchen skills, safety, and following instructions
  • Knitting and craft clubs, supporting creativity, patience, and fine motor skills
  • Piano and guitar, allowing students to develop instrumental skills beyond lesson time
  • Art, design, and creative workshops
  • Sports-based activities delivered either by UAS staff or specialist coaches


A Programme Designed for Choice and Balance

The after-school programme is designed to complement the academic day.

Activities provide students with opportunities to:

  • explore personal interests
  • develop confidence and independence
  • build friendships across year groups
  • enjoy learning in a less formal setting

Participation is optional, and families can choose activities based on interest, availability, and balance with other commitments.

The after-school programme is updated each term. 

Details of available activities, schedules, and registration information are shared with families through official UAS communication channels and the relevant sign-up links.

Families who are unsure which activities may be most suitable can seek guidance from the school, based on their child’s age, interests, and experience level.
