High School.

Developing the whole child and equipping them for life after school.

Grades 9 to 12

At Universal American School, we believe in developing the whole child. Our graduates attend competitive universities around the world. Our IB scores are consistently above the world average.

The High School offers a rigorous, university preparatory program that is aligned to the New York State Standards (NYSS) in Grades 9 through 12. Additionally, UAS offers two clear, academically rigorous pathways for direct entrance into university. One is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.  The other is a selection of Advanced Placement and Common Core courses.

Lessons in the high school are student focused and provide students with opportunities to develop as independent critical-thinkers, innovative problem-solvers and life-long learners. Our Week Without Walls and Community, Activity and Service programs help students to develop an awareness and understanding of global issues in order to prepare them for their roles as responsible global citizens.

University Pathways

At UAS, our aim is to provide every student with a pathway for direct entrance into a university of their choosing within a field of study and a location of their choice.

IB Diploma Pathway:

Students who choose the IB Diploma as their pathway select six courses and are enrolled for two years.  All courses include an external examination and some universities provide college credit for certain courses, depending upon the grade earned.

University Pathway:

Students who choose the University Pathway will select from a battery of courses, each lasting one year.  Any AP course will have an externally assessed exam which can provide the student an opportunity to earn college credit or be exempt from taking certain courses, depending upon the university requirements.
